Lottery Results: What Makes Them So Interesting?

Friday, January 6th, 2012

We have all waited for examination results, match results and so on and so forth. But have you ever waited for a lottery result? Be it a participant or not, lottery outcomes excite every one. Waiting for the results with your figures crossed and baiting breath is a different kind of fun altogether. People’s expectations increase with the size of pot; larger the pot bigger the anticipation.

It is fascinating to see people wait for lottery results far and wide, even if they have nothing to do with it. After all, it’s interesting to witness one’s life change in no time with just a combination of few numbers.

Perhaps this is why the trend of telecasting lottery draws on TV has been born. Even TV producers have realized that these programs can increase the ratings substantially. It’s also beneficial for the lottery organizers who want to make their lottery more popular.

But are lottery results always authentic? There is actually no reason to believe that dishonest practices are there in all lotteries, but at the same time no matter how transparently everything is organized and conducted, there is always a slim shadow of doubt.

In spite of all the scams and controversies, people still continue to love lotteries and are hooked to the lucky draw programs that come on TV.

Truth be told, computers can be hacked and mechanical lottery machines can be tampered with, unless there are enough security features and checks in place. But if the fraud is internal, there is little that can be done.

Therefore it is always a safe bet to participate in lotteries which are regulated by the government bodies and have built their reputation from scratch.

Finally, keep your fingers crossed before lottery results, but don’t cry foul if you don’t win! After all that’s a part and parcel of the game called lottery and you take a chance knowing that the odds are stacked against you.
